We are a growing YouTube-based content business looking for one specific type of person: someone who is highly detail-oriented, follows systems precisely, and can edit talking head and faceless videos to a professional standard.
This is NOT a general VA role. Video editing is the core of this position — 90% of what you will do. If you cannot edit cleanly, follow a workflow exactly as shown, and QA your own work before submission, this role is not for you.
⚠ Read carefully. This role requires a specific skill set and mindset. If you’re the right fit, you’ll know it immediately.
THE ROLE
You will edit talking head and faceless educational videos using CapCut desktop (paid/Pro version required). You will follow a specific workflow that has been developed and refined for this business. You will QA your own work during editing — not after — and submit clean videos that do not require correction.
You will also handle supporting admin tasks once video editing is mastered.
VIDEO EDITING — PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY (90%)
This is the most important part of the role. Everything else is secondary.
• Edit talking head and faceless videos in CapCut desktop (Pro version required)
• Follow a precise 3-step workflow: cut audio → sync video → QA simultaneously during editing
• Extract audio from video clips and manage audio/video tracks separately on the timeline
• Remove mistakes, pauses, breaths, and dead air with clean, undetectable cuts
• Ensure no words are cut off — every word must complete fully before a cut
• Eliminate all screen jumps — mouse movement must be natural and continuous across every clip transition
• Ensure all audio clips are directly adjacent on the timeline — no gaps
• QA during editing, not after — you should know your video is clean before you submit it
• Complete a full QA checklist before every submission
• Target turnaround: 20-minute video edited and submitted within 4 hours
• Add end screens, CTAs, captions, thumbnails, and descriptions for YouTube and TikTok
ADMIN / OPERATIONS SUPPORT — SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY (10%)
• Social media research and engagement using provided SOPs
• Community management (comments, conversation starters)
• Manage tasks and deadlines in Asana and Slack
• Update sales systems, lead information, and website content
• Proofread and update documents and spreadsheets accurately
• Daily and weekly reporting
NON-NEGOTIABLES
If you cannot meet all of the following, do not apply.
• CapCut desktop — paid/Pro version — installed and ready before start date
• Able to edit a 20-minute talking head video within 4 hours once trained
• Available to work EST hours (evenings 6–9 PM EST for training, flexible after)
• Follows workflows exactly as taught — no substituting your own methods
• Takes detailed notes during training and does not ask repeated questions
• Submits a completed QA checklist with every video — no exceptions
• Does not submit work with obvious errors — you catch your own mistakes
YOU’RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU HAVE
• A background that required extreme attention to detail — QA/compliance, medical billing, insurance operations, paralegal, data auditing, finance, claims processing, or similar
• Proven experience editing talking head or faceless YouTube videos
• A structured, analytical mindset — you think critically when something looks or sounds wrong
• Strong time management — you complete work on deadline without dragging hours
• CapCut desktop experience (required) — Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro is a plus
• Experience with Asana, Notion, ClickUp, or Slack
• Canva experience for thumbnails and basic graphics
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• $3–6 USD/hour depending on experience and performance
• Paid weekly
• 13th-month pay
• Monthly performance bonuses for exceeding KPIs
• Annual retention bonus review
• Performance-based raises
• Promotion path — top performers can grow into team lead roles
• Ongoing skill training (AI, social media, video editing, writing, and more)
• Stable, long-term employment with clear systems, SOPs, and feedback
